June 15 at the age of 88 years died the legendary Soviet actor, people’s artist of USSR Alexey Batalov. The actor died in a Moscow clinic, where he was almost five months after he had broken his hip. In February Batalov had surgery.
Alexei Batalov was born in 1928 in Vladimir, in a theatrical family. In 1950 in Moscow, graduated from the School-Studio of MKHAT. The screens debuted in 1944.
Batalov starred in such films as “Rumyantsev Case” “the cranes are Flying“, “Moscow does not believe in tears“, “Nine days of one year“, “Purely English murder“, “the Star of captivating happiness“, “the Living corpse“, “the lady with the dog“.
He also directed the films “the Overcoat“, “Three fat men” and “the Player“.
The title of people’s artist of the USSR got in 1976, and in 1989 was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
