The importance of the “Harry Potter” for a generation cannot be overstated, but the estimate turned out to be easier. In September this year at the Heritage auction the first edition of the main works of J. K. Rowling without the author’s autograph has sold for a record amount to 81.2 thousand dollars.
It should be noted that the first edition of “Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone” was released in quantities of only 500 copies, so this lot turned out to be really valuable. It was originally planned that the book will be exclusively in the libraries of England, and no one could have foreseen the future success of a series of books by JK Rowling. Another book from the same series was sold in 2007, then it was auctioned off for 40 thousand dollars. Collectible books about Harry Potter always enjoy success at auctions. For example, last year a copy of the same novel with a typo on the cover was sold for 54 thousand dollars.
