In London, at auction Sotheby’s sold the personal belongings of a famous actress Vivien Leigh (“gone with the wind,” “Streetcar named Desire”).
Vivien Leigh, lady Olivier – English actress who has received two awards “Oscar” for the role of Scarlett O’hara in Gone with the wind (1939) and Blanche Dubois in “Streetcar named Desire” (1951).
The actress often worked in collaboration with her husband, Laurence Olivier, who was the Director of several movies with her participation. Throughout his thirty-year career she played a variety of roles from heroines of the comedies of Noel Coward and George Bernard Shaw to classic Shakespearean characters such as Ophelia, Cleopatra, Juliet and lady Macbeth.
Modern film critics and film historians called the Vivien Leigh one of the greatest Actresses in history. And acting in “a Streetcar named Desire” is one of the most thorough transformations of all time.
Recall the reception in Monaco: Olga Kurylenko failed to outshine the Princess of Monaco Charlene, and Nelly Furtado strongly recovered.
