American Vulture portal has made a rating of the best writers of all time. The list included one hundred playwrights of world cinema.

The leader was the author of the film “In a jazz only girls”, “sunset Boulevard,” “the Lost weekend” and “witness for the prosecution” by Billy Wilder. He wrote the screenplays for 79 pictures and directed 27 films. Wilder received six Oscars and died in 2002 at the age of 95 years.

Second place was shared by brothers Ethan and Joel Coen, who wrote the scripts for his films “Fargo”, “Old men,” “Barton Fink,” “Miller’s crossing” and “the Big Lebowski”.

Third place — Robert Towne, who worked on “Chinatown”, “Yakuza”, “Firm” and the first two fighters of the franchise “Mission: impossible”.

The top ten also included Quentin Tarantino (film Director noted for his scripts for “Mad dogs”, “Pulp fiction” and “Inglorious bastards”), Francis Ford Coppola (“the Godfather,” “Apocalypse now”), William Goldman (“Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid”), Charlie Kaufman (“being John Malkovich”, “Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind”), woody Allen (“Annie Hall”), Nora Ephron (“SILKWOOD”) and Ernest Lehman (“North by Northwest”).

Completes the rating of a 38-year-old Jordan Peele, writer and Director of horror 2017 “Away”.
