Even if you know nothing about the life of English writer John R. R. Tolkien, you probably know that he wrote “the Hobbit” and “Lord of the rings.”
Details of his biography can be found in the upcoming biopic “Tolkien”, the main role of which is eyeing the star of “Lonely men” and “X-Men” Nicholas hoult.
The actor is still at an early stage of negotiations. If the contract is signed, hoult will play a young Tolkien. And the role of the writer in a more Mature age may be invited by a different artist, older.
The script belongs to David Gleason (“Cowboys and angels”, “the front Line”) and Stephen Beresford (“Pride”). In the Director’s chair is a Finnish producer House Karukoski (“the Home of dark butterflies”, “Lapland Odyssey”).
Nicholas hoult will play Tolkien in that delicate and important for identity formation age, when the writer, who lost his father and mother, finds first friendship, first love and first associates. But then comes the First world war, which naturally destroys all the plans and dreams and forcing John deeper and deeper into a world of fantasy.
Production of the biopic deals with the Studio Fox Searchlight. Release date is not yet known.
It is noteworthy that in September of this year the screens will be released biopic “Behind the catcher in the rye” (“Rebel in the Rye”), in which Nicholas hoult plays another of the famous writer Jerome Salinger.
