Popular Hollywood actor John Malkovich (RED: Real, extreme, daring”) will star in the drama about marijuana “Humboldt” Studio Sony Pictures TV, which will oversee the producers of “true detective”. The upcoming series is based on the best-selling Emily Brady, “Humboldt: Life on the front line of production of marijuana in America.”
Series the script, written by Michael A. Lerner, will be offered to cable networks and streaming services.
The book talks about the commune in Northern California, which for forty years exists only through the cultivation and sale of marijuana. The author of the novel, gathering material for work, lived among the inhabitants of the town that hides their occupation and presents a true view of how the potential legalization of marijuana affects the community.
Malkovich will play the Patriarch of a criminal family, dressed in Humboldt County. He will share the duties of Executive producer and Lerner, and Jennifer Rawlings. Director appointed Carl Franklin (“Particularly serious crime”).
Recall that recent works by Malkovich on TV – starring role in the NBC series “Skull and bones”, which was closed after the first season.
