New review: As Vic the Garlic was carrying Lech Pin in a nursing home 01.10.2017

This funny, sometimes realistic drawn cartoon on the life of the Russian provinces (and not only the provinces), filmed a bit in the spirit of clips of the “Leningrad” rather be called a Comedy than a drama.

From the first frame (and the movie) are configured for typical domestic dill, so beloved and us, and abroad, and end up with easy, understandable and in many ways touching movie. Classic story — the uncovering of the prodigal father rather typical of American comedies, on the background of our reality (I must say, depicted with a grotesque) looks, for me personally, atypical, and the format of the road movie adds dynamics and does not get bored. Hard cynicism in the film is combined with the naivete and romanticism, because people have that “full panel belly” is not only a basic instinct, it’s a little more complicated.

Seriously and deeply analyze the characters in the movie seems unnecessary, especially information about their lives, opinions and motivations are given just enough so that everything happening was a set of stereotypes of post-Soviet reality and its attributes — from leopard print leggings to the icons in the house ex-con.

The main advantages of the picture can be attributed to the abundance of humour, not always obvious, and the soundtrack. Those “Mushrooms” are quite different if from the Moscow clubs to move them in the context of the film. And the final song on degree of purity and naivety is matched only by the purity and naivety of the “mysterious Russian soul”, even sometimes the owner stays on the bottom of the social.
