About the identity of Casanova’s many legends: he was a great libertine, and a skilled swindler-adventurer, and Venetian naughty playboy, and so much more. The trail of speculation and guesswork so far extends this world-famous figure. Some of them are reflected in this movie.
The events in the film take viewers to the dawn of the activities of Italian revelers and playboy Giacomo Casanova, appearing in the middle of the XVIII century. From the first frames, the Director takes the Giacomo, as a tireless hunter of the weaker sex, from courtship to which all women are crazy. Even the nuns of our loving Italian not left without “attention”. The fame of his adventures, thundering throughout Venice, reached by the Pope himself. At the insistence of the Pope from Rome to Venice left the Inquisitor Pucci, whose task was to put an end to this ocean of debauchery (heresy). The main guilty was appointed as a womanizer, Casanova.
If we talk about the genre of the film, it is a melodrama with elements of Comedy or a Comedy with elements of melodrama, who somehow. In any case, this creature in its “pure” format of the genre does not fit. In fact, the whole film rests on new, hitherto untested feelings of Casanova to the charming and daring Francesca, who by the end of the film was determined ladies ‘ man like love. But this desire for beauty in the girl had displayed so dry and false that “thing” that did Giacomo with the merchant, Paprizzio left in the memory of the audience where a larger footprint.
The most notable characters in the film was the Inquisitor Pucci and Casanova’s servant, Lupo. The first is a fierce, domineering, not termeshi of objection, the Minister of faith, one whose appearance was injected to thrill even the most experienced people; second nimble rascal, a faithful servant Giacomo, with which they deftly made his sales. Both of the above hero the complete opposite of each other, but that their presence added to the film dynamics and the N-th number of humorous scenes.
Adaptation of the life of any historical figure is not complete without a description of the locality in which this person lived. And the story of Casanova a win-win option. Well who would not like Venice with its architecture, sculptures, fountains, bas-reliefs, the fashion in the Baroque style… Its hyperelastica culture can be indifferent to only the dry, cloth, devoid of human emotions.
In conclusion, we can say that the legend of Casanova was confirmed in this artwork, although, as stated by researchers, Casanova in art (books, movies) and Casanova in reality is two completely different people.
