The idea of the film “to Live” is simple, but very catchy and makes the viewer think. The right camera work, color pictures, and an authentic acting create a great atmosphere of the film. Tense chase scenes are replaced by more serene scenes with terse and sometimes a bit strange conversations that reveal the characters. Action scene is good, but towards the end of shooting be a little absurd and strained.
I was struck by the extraordinary simplicity of expressive means, resorted to the Director. All thoughts are clear, no metaphors and innuendo, the key idea is literally pronounced from the lips of the hero Shvedova, but some scenes, like the monologue of the old man and the climactic finale, stun his promise.
