3 years after “Sabrina” in 1957 comes the film “love in the afternoon”. Again Billy Wilder, again Audrey Hepburn, again in Paris, and again amazing work…
How they are so amazing, Audrey Hepburn, and Gary Cooper, and the ship of romanticism, protected from the storm of reality and the magical atmosphere of the music has already become a family to you “Gypsies” is the first thought after viewing.
I liked how Wilder made the picture is simple, but very sensual dialogues, phrases.
“I for you the aperitif, as we say on the left Bank”.
“Life, as they say in French is Bonjour and Edie, and between them a little bit of l’amour”.
The plot is not original, but here it is in it, and inexplicable charm that hovers over the entire picture. The film is one of the best in its genre.
I watched this movie because I watched all the movies with Audrey, and as always happens, after that, I was flooded with feelings of lightness, tenderness and melancholy. Because such films are, most likely, will not appear…
