New review: Somnia 01.08.2016

The film “Somnia” is the second movie Mike Flanagan I decided to watch, after “Oculus” (which was disgusting).

Perhaps I’ll start with the fact that it’s not a horror movie, if You want to watch it for, you better look at the paintings by James WAN. This little film in a different genre. So the story starts off pretty corny, like films in this genre, the couple adopt a troubled kid in the family with whom he lived were happening strange things. Well, the viewers are already set up for a horror movie, but it was not there. Then everything happens all in a child’s horror story. Small dreams begin to materialize (the idea reminded the “silent hill”, from this it was possible to make a horror film, but the screenwriter went the other way). I would say rather that the writer did this creepy dramatic talethat keeps in suspense from the beginning to the end of the movie, and I think that’s the best compliment to the whole team. In fact the film a rating of PG-13, but we decided to make it 16+.

Acting I would say was limping a little, but the Russian doubles perfectly coped with their work, that still smoothed impression of the film. I would like to mention the work of the composer, he has created this fabulous atmosphere. I’ll be brief.

The picture is, I believe, is the one that looked at least once.

9 out of 10
